Does anyone know anything about melanoma on the lung?

Hello, over the past few years my father has been fighting with cancer, a year ago he was told that he was cancer free. Then the other day he was told that a lump right above where he had his last surgery for cancer is a 99% chance of being cancer again. So they made him go in for a xray and told him that they found something on his lung and that his melanoma cancer might have gone there now. Can anyone tell me anything about this kind of cancer and what happens when it gets to the lung?
